About Alaskan Glassy Waters Studio
Originally from the outskirts of Music City—the creative heartbeat of the South—Nicole grew up surrounded by artistic inspiration. Her first stained‑glass course sparked a lifelong passion for working with glass. As a young adult, her travels across the country opened doors to study and collaborate with other glass artists, deepening her skills and expanding her artistic voice. After arriving in Alaska in 2000, she met her partner, Bryan, and together they founded Alaskan Glassy Waters Studio. Today, Nicole pursues her vision full‑time as a glass artist.
Bryan, born and raised in Alaska, is a fourth‑generation fisherman with a natural talent for working with his hands. After high school, he trained in the carpentry trade and has worked as a Residential General Contractor since 1994. His craftsmanship and problem‑solving skills became an essential part of the studio’s evolution.
After meeting in Anchorage, Bryan and Nicole moved to the Kenai Peninsula in 2002. By 2004, they had rented a small shop and the equipment needed to begin fusing glass. Motivated and self‑taught, they were determined to build a studio of their own. A few years later, Bryan constructed a one‑of‑a‑kind glass‑fusing kiln capable of firing large panels up to 24″ x 36″. Now based in Soldotna, Alaska, the couple continues to run Alaskan Glassy Waters Studio together.
Alaska’s ever‑changing landscapes and seascapes provide endless inspiration, and the glass itself brings life to Nicole’s interpretations. More than two decades of exploring the medium have revealed its mystical and colorful nature—fragile yet enduring, fluid yet solid. Glass is a timeless way to preserve the spontaneity of a creative moment, resulting in artwork that is both beautiful and often functional.
Alaskan Glassy Waters Studio specializes in custom‑designed, purposeful, and decorative glass art for the home. In addition to original artwork, Nicole and Bryan create unique windows, portholes, door panels, wall and bath tiles, kitchen backsplashes, and more—working closely with clients to bring their visions to life. Every piece is crafted from 100% glass, with no decals, inclusions, paints, or enamels.
Surrounded by nature and the extraordinary landscapes of Alaska, Nicole and Bryan take joy in sharing their world through brilliant imagery and one‑of‑a‑kind glass creations.
